27. MAY THE DIVINE WILL BE DONE IN ME

On the day after the retreat, I remained under this impression of desire for love, but afterwards I felt that I had entered on the way which Our Lord had pointed out to me: a way of self-annihilation; I saw nothing; I felt nothing; I did not suffer as during the retreat; however, I had not this sweet interior feeling that suffering gives; it was annihilation, death to everything sensible, a kind of interior want of all things. Since that time, my dispositions have been: to abandon myself, to apply myself to the rule, to the practice of the virtues as occasion demands: May the divine Will be done in me!3
